| Total Quality Management
(TQM) was developed within the Department
of Defense and became popular in the United States during
the 1980s. The term TQM is not used as it once was and has
been replaced by TQ (Total Quality).
TQ is based on three fundamental
principles:
- Customer and stakeholder focus.
- Participation and teamwork.
- Process focus and continuous improvement.
