Education & Background:

I earned my Bachelor of Science in General Science (biology emphasis and psychology minor) and a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Iowa.  For the first part of my career, I worked as a rehabilitation counselor. I moved to Wisconsin and started advising freshmen students in the UW-Stout Advisement Center in 2003.

As a first-year advisor and transfer student liaison, I assist students with the transition to college life at UW-Stout. My goal is a student’s success, whatever that may mean for them.  I teach a career exploration course and am certified to administer the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Free Time/Personal:

In my free time you can often find me in or on the water. I lived on a boat for two years before moving to Wisconsin and most recently learned to sail. My best days are spent floating down a river in a canoe or kayak. I like to learn about most anything, so working at a university is a great fit!

Tips for Success:

Treat school like a full-time job. Plan for 40 hours per week of classes, studying, and homework.

Be curious. Ask questions. Explore your new environment.
