Three images of works by artists in support structures sit side by side in their own color panel. Sarah Evenson's work shows and angel with a spash of red, Marc Anderson's is a portrait of a older man with a handlebar mustache, and Emily Gordon's work is pink marks scattered across a picture plane.

Support Structures

The Studio Art Professional Advisory Committee has assembled for a new exhibition in Furlong’s North Gallery. Titled, Support Structures, the show features incredible work by the industry professionals that are consulted to facilitate Studio Art students stepping forward into the professional art world. The artists on view will be Ann Orlowski, Danny Saathoff, Dustin Steuck, Emily Gordon, Ethan Aaro Jones, Jessica Tenbusch, Josh Bindewald, Lila Shull, Marc Anderson and Sarah Evenson. Many of these professional artists are also alumni of UW-Stout!

simon ungless a life in print

Simon Ungless was an original member of the design team at Alexander McQueen, where experimentation, craft, and narrative shaped his approach to fashion. Today, through his studio When Simon Met Ralph, Ungless focuses on material transformation, working primarily with reclaimed textiles and garments. His practice challenges mass production and excess waste, reimagining discarded materials as singular works that honor process, history, and sustainability while advocating for a more thoughtful relationship between design, making, and consumption.

Ungless will be holding a Worn Wear Screen Printing workshop for students on Sunday, April 12th.
