Set graduating students up for success by encouraging them to attend the UW-Stout Grad Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Memorial Student Center ballrooms.
The Grad Fair is a great opportunity to take care of all the details relating to graduation and commencement. At the Grad Fair, students can pick up their commencement ceremony tickets, pick up honor cordons, if eligible, and have a graduation portrait taken by Empire Photography. Career Services, Registration and Records, and the Alumni Association will be there to help answer questions regarding graduation and what comes after. Graduation regalia can be purchased in person at Stoutfitters or purchased online through Herff Jones.
Commencement is one of the most meaningful milestones in a student’s journey. It’s a time to celebrate years of hard work, dedication, growth, and achievement alongside family, friends, classmates and faculty.
Commencement is on Saturday, Dec. 20:
- 10 a.m.: College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management undergraduate; and College of Arts and Human Sciences undergraduate ceremonies
- 2 p.m.: Graduate Studies ceremony
Doors will open 45 minutes prior to each ceremony. Seating is first-come, first-served. All guests for the undergraduate ceremony will need a ticket to enter Johnson Fieldhouse. Children 3 and under do not need a ticket. A remote viewing area is available on the second floor of the Memorial Student Center.
The ceremonies will be live-streamed and can be viewed on Stout's YouTube Commencement stream. Please see the Commencement FAQ page for more information.
As part of commencement, select student speakers are chosen from a competitive application process to share their experiences, reflections, and words of inspiration with their fellow graduates, families and the campus community. Student commencement speakers represent their class and share their journey as proud UW-Stout graduates. They have a great story to share and can also speak to a large audience.
If you know your student is interested in applying to be a commencement speaker, encourage them to apply by Sunday, Nov. 16:
