What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in earning your degree? Being a minority on campus can be difficult. Sometimes you feel that you can’t do it because you don’t see familiar faces around you. Also, being a first-generation college student can be over overwhelming when I can’t just ask my parents what they did when they were in college because they don’t have that knowledge. I had to look for answers by myself and figure out how to overcome being homesick.

What will you appreciate most about your UW-Stout experience? Just being able to go to the Multicultural Student Services office and talk to them and have such a big support. Also, having such amazing staff who are willing to help you succeed.

What’s next in your life? I will be attending Graduate School at UW-Stout for the school counseling master’s program.
