Following is a Q&A with one of the 1,379 students who received a diploma May 5 at UW-Stout.

Name: Eric Fabich
Hometown: Rhinelander
Major: Construction
Awards, honors: Cum Laude, multiple Chancellor’s Awards, 2018 Construction Industry Advisory Board Scholarship

Why did you choose UW-Stout? Because of the hands-on experience and the excellent construction program. Looking back now, I’m very happy to have chosen this school to begin my construction career.

What are the biggest obstacles you faced in earning your degree? I think it revolved around time management. Throughout my college career, I’ve had to balance, school, work and involvement in numerous clubs. By working through this obstacle, I was able to better prepare myself.

What stands out among your college experiences? The friends and connections I have made here at UW-Stout cannot be topped. I am definitely grateful for the networking opportunities UW-Stout provided and will use these connections as I continue to grow my career in the industry.

What’s next? I will be working for AZCO Inc. as a field project coordinator. Through this position I will travel from jobsite to jobsite and ensure projects are running smoothly and efficiently.
