Her approach to counseling is based on a foundation of Humanistic Psychology and centers on developing an empathic working relationship with the client.

Biography

Julie joined the Counseling Center staff in August 2017. As an undergraduate, she attended Berry College in Rome, GA where she received her B.S. in Business Administration. Julie attended the University of West Georgia where she received a Master of Arts in Humanistic Psychology with a clinical concentration. She completed her counseling internship at the University of West Georgia and Columbus State University graduating with her doctorate degree from Auburn University in Counselor Education & Supervision.

As a therapist, Julie considers herself a generalist, with special interests in attachment and interpersonal process theory. In addition to counseling, Julie has taught graduate courses in Lifespan Development, Group Counseling, Practicum, and Program Evaluation. While at Auburn University, she worked with individuals impacted by sexual assault through the Safe Harbor Advocacy Service, Alcohol & Drug Prevention and served as the Coordinator for the Auburn Recovery Community.

When not working, Julie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching the Packers, SEC football, and discovering the local area around Menomonie. .
