I am originally from southern Wisconsin, but once I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Legal Studies, I headed to central Wisconsin!  It was there that I started working in higher education, realized it was the career path I wanted, and even graduated with my Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Policy.  Eventually I found my way to Stout and now I’ve made Menomonie my home.  I’ve always loved going to school and learning, so it made sense when I found myself working in education and loving it.  Now I get to help Stout students as they figure out their path to a rewarding career!

What is your advice for a new student?

Try things! College is a unique opportunity to sample a lot of different things, have lots of adventures, and learn lessons both inside and outside the classroom.

What was your college major (and minor)?

I majored in History and had a minor in Legal Studies.  I also have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy

Why did you choose your college major?

I was already two years into a different major when I realized I was enjoying and excelling in my history classes more than my major classes.  So, I decided to major in history and minor in legal studies.  At the time I thought working in a law firm, or a courthouse would be a good career option…but it turns out I’m meant to be in higher education!

What do you love most about UW-Stout?

The people I get to work with.  Our employees are truly the best!  I also really enjoy the students I get to meet and help.  They are the reason I’m so passionate about my work!

My favorite thing to do in Menomonie is…

Going to the farmer’s market!  It is so fun, vibrant, and colorful!  There is plenty of produce, local artisans, and delicious food trucks and stands to visit!

A random fact about me...

I have been skydiving 3 times!  It was one of the the most exhilarating experiences of my life and I’m so glad I did it, but I think I’m content staying inside the plane from now on!
