Jo Johnson has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for January at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Johnson, of Boyceville, is assistant director of payroll and benefits in Human Resources.

Johnson’s nomination stated: “Jo has been a dedicated university employee for over 18 years. She works tirelessly to provide the best customer service to the employees of the university. She truly puts her heart and soul into her work. She cares so much about doing a good job and about all the employees. Her license plates even say ‘Paying Em!’ There are very few people as deserving of this award. We would be lost without her.”

Chancellor Bob Meyer presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout coffee mug and a check for $100.

Students, faculty and staff may nominate a university staff member who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the university community. The award, now in its 11th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office.
