Daisy Pignetti has been a professor in the English, Philosophy, and Communication Studies Department since 2008 and served as Director for the online Bachelor of Science in Professional Communication and Emerging Media program between 2014-2018.

Her research interests include celebrity and fan studies, rhetorical theory, and research methods and ethics, inasmuch as each area is influenced by the Internet and social media. She has published articles in the Journal of Fandom Studies, Transformative Works and Cultures, and Computers and Composition Online and has presented her research to the Association of Internet Researchers, Fan Studies Network, Oxford Internet Institute, and Popular Culture Association.
