The UW-Stout theatre, band and choir welcome you to explore the performing arts on our campus. These programs provide a creative outlet to students that have enjoyed and developed skills as performers and wish to further refine and explore their artistic talents.
Participation in music and theatre teaches expression beyond the written and spoken word, connects to a tradition of cultural awareness and explores creative new works of art. The performing arts investigate our expressions of humanity, unite multiple subject areas and draw people together, allowing them to relate in meaningful and enduring ways.
Being involved in the performing arts is a great way to meet other students, become part of a group and demonstrate to future employers that you are a dedicated team player and have attention to detail. Experiencing a live performance as an audience member - or on the stage - is a memorable and powerful event that generates thought, discussion and interaction. For the performer or audience member, being a part of the performing arts is a lifelong activity that builds relationships and communities.
