Grants for Undergraduate Students

Eligibility: Based on your financial need determined by your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Award: Maximum award for the 2024-2025 year is $7,395. Award amounts are based on your FAFSA and credit load.
Eligibility: Based on Pell Grant eligibility. Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits).
Award: Maximum award is $1,000.
Who: Wisconsin resident undergraduates.
Eligibility: Based on your financial need determined by your FAFSA. Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits). Can be received for a maximum of 10 semesters.
Award: Maximum award for the 2024-2025 year is $4,000. Award amounts are based on your FAFSA.
Who: Undergraduates who are Wisconsin residents or who are approved for Minnesota reciprocity AND who are at least at sophomore grade level (at least 30 earned credits).
Eligibility: Based on African American, Hispanic, American Indian, and Southeast Asian ethnicity. Must demonstrate financial need and be enrolled full-time. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Grant can be received for a maximum of 8 semesters. A separate application is required.
Award: Maximum award is $3,000.
Who: Wisconsin resident undergraduates who have been nominated.
Eligibility: Freshmen students are nominated by school financial aid offices or by counselors of the Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Programs (WEOP). To continue to receive the TIP Grant, you must be enrolled consecutively at least half-time (6 credits) and continue to demonstrate financial need. Grant can be received for a maximum of 10 semesters.
Award: Maximum award is $1,800.
State grant: Wisconsin Indian Student Assistance Grant
Tribal grant: File an application with your tribe.
Who: Wisconsin resident undergraduates who are studying abroad.
Eligibility: Must demonstrate financial need determined by your FAFSA and be accepted into a study abroad or exchange program. You must complete an application and submit it to the Office of International Education.

Who: Minority graduate students or non-minority disadvantaged graduate students.
Eligibility: Based on African American, Hispanic, American Indian, and Southeast Asian ethnicity; or being an economically disadvantaged non-minority graduate student. Must be admitted to a graduate program and complete a FAFSA. A separate application is required.
