Jeremy L. Wolfe
First Lieutenant Jeremy L. Wolfe was born on August 16, 1976 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He joined the Army National Guard in 1994 and graduated from Colfax High School in 1995. He enrolled at UW-Stout and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Specialist (E4) in the 25th Infantry Division. His Ranger, Airborne and Jump School record earned him a Green and Gold Scholarship at Hawaii Pacific. Wolfe graduated in the top five of his flight school. He was deployed to Iraq in 2003 where he served as a flight platoon leader with the 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Wolfe was killed November 15, 2003 in a helicopter collision in Mosul, Iraq. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He is buried in St. John’s Cemetery in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
Andrew Bossert
Staff Sergeant Andrew Bossert was born on October 1, 1980. He grew up in Cassville, WI and later Fountain City, WI. He was a 1999 graduate of Cochrane-Fountain City High School. In August 1999, Bossert enrolled at UW-Stout with a dream of becoming an architect. He took up residence in Room 135 Wigen Hall. After one semester at Stout, Bossert decided to serve his country while earning benefits to support his future education. He enlisted in the Army and joined the 44th Engineering Battalion, Sapper Company. During his time serving in Korea, Bossert met and married his wife, Olga. He reenlisted and served an additional eighteen months in Korea before he was assigned to Iraq. In Iraq, he earned his unit’s respect for being a leader that led by example. On March 7, 2005, Bossert was killed in action by a car bomb at a checkpoint in Ramadi, Iraq. Bossert was honored by friends and classmates at a memorial service in Cochrane, WI. He was buried with full military honors at Cassville Cemetery in Cassville, Wisconsin.
