The Office of Student Opportunity & Excellence (OSOE) promotes academic, professional, and personal success for all students. We accomplish this by providing holistic student-centered support that promotes student advocacy, success, and access to resources that foster increased persistence, retention, and graduation, pursuit of advanced degrees, and career attainment. We further provide a support system and educational opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to learn how to cultivate a sense of belonging in learning and work environments. Our goal is for every UW-Stout student to thrive and reach their full potential.
Investing in Students
The OSOE plays an integral role in UW-Stout’s FOCUS 2030 goal of supporting and advancing student success by addressing priorities such as student needs, sense of belonging, and access to resources and opportunities. We are also dedicated to creating supportive environments where students from all backgrounds feel valued, included, and positioned for success.
Investing in Campus Culture
The OSOE is committed to UW-Stout’s FOCUS 2030 goal of ensuring access to respectful and welcoming learning, student living, and work environments for all. We continue to make progress in these efforts with the ongoing work of this office, the Collaborative Impact Team, and through cross-campus and collaborative partnerships.
Strengthening Our Community
The identities of our students and employees are multifaceted. We value continuous improvement and innovation, and we welcome all voices to contribute to those ongoing processes. We strive to create learning environments in which students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds can thrive and fulfill their academic, personal, and professional potential in an increasingly global environment.
