Beginning in fall 2023, the University of Wisconsin System's Wisconsin Tuition Promise will enable underserved Wisconsin students to attend any UW System university without paying tuition or fees.
By increasing the number of Wisconsin residents who earn a bachelor’s degree – especially first-generation students and those from low-to-moderate income families throughout the state – Wisconsin's public universities will continue to fulfill their pledge of service by improving individual lives and communities and by helping meet the state’s current and projected workforce needs.
The Wisconsin Tuition Promise provides up to four years of tuition and fee funding for students enrolling at any of Wisconsin's public universities (other than UW-Madison) who come from families with less than $62,000 annual income. The program is structured to provide “last dollar” financial support after accounting for federal and state grant aid and scholarships. (Tuition Promise awards will vary by individual student.)
Students will be automatically considered for the Wisconsin Tuition Promise when they apply for federal financial aid. See Eligibility Requirements below.
